Today was a good day. Fidel arrived at Deeder’s Pass. He got filled in on the news and decided to join in leading the battle.
We spent the night catching up.
I continue to have pride in my elven friend. His heart is not into service for others. But his soul is righteous. Even after swearing off helping political advances, he still sees the course of actions that follow the goodly thread in the chaotic world before us.
But I worry for him. Salnan made it clear that this was a fight for souls. I don’t know how Fidel will react when he is forced to face her on the field. The professions he has told me tell me he has an undeniable love for that woman. But she will oppose him, because she has no choice to avoid it. What will happen that day?
I know I will be there. I will do everything I can to make sure he survives the ordeal. But in doing so, will I make an enemy of my best friend? I guess time will tell.
I don’t envy your position, Fidel. Not one bit.
